| L. M. Bearce, Clerk
of the Courts, was born in Maine in 1837. He removed from
there to Massachusetts, thence in 1852 to Iowa, and
settled near Waukon in this county. He subsequently
engaged in the mercantile business in Waukon. In 1880 he
was elected to his present position. He married Maria
Israel, a native of Pennsylvania. They have two children,
a son and a daughter. pg 473 |
