| Fred A. Burton |
| Fred A. Burton, grain buyer, born in
Rhode Island in 1851, came to Iowa and to Makee Township
in 1854, and became a resident in Waukon in 1868. Mr.
Burton was engaged for several years in buying grain in
the markets at Lansing and Postville in this county, and
in DeSoto, Wis., as well as at his home in Waukon. In
September 1880 he assumed charge of A. & T.
McMichael's grain elevator at Waterville, where he has
since been constantly employed. pg 478 |
