7, P.O. Waukon, farmer, owns 237 acres of land valued at
$40 per acre. He was born Sept. 29, 1829, in Germany,
where he remained till, the spring of 1852, when he
emigrated to the U. S., arriving in this Co. the 12th of
June, and was married the 28th of June to Miss Hermina
Rumpf, who was born in Oldenburg, Germany. Shortly after
his marriage he located in Makee Township, where he
remained till in 1869, when he came on to his present
farm. Mr. Drewes is a thoroughgoing, enterprising farmer,
as the appearance of his farm and improvements indicates.
His children are Charles, Willie, Anna, Theodore, Daniel,
Louis, Henry and Paul. He is a member of the German
Reformed Church. pg 485 |
