Naturalization of Aliens State of Iowa, Allamakee County Be it remembered at a Term of the District Court, holden in and for said county, in Waukon therein on the 19 day of June A.D. 1872, was present the Honorable Milo McGlathery sole presiding Judge, Jas Palmer Sheriff of said county, and J. W. Pratt Clerk of said Court, when the following among other proceedings were had, to-wit: Ole O. Hegg a native of Norway and at present residing within said State, appeared in open Court, and makes application to be admitted to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that he had declared on oath, before J.W. Pratt (illegible...) Iowa a cort record having common law jurisdiction and using a seal, he having come to the U. States before the age of eighteen. [Squeezed in between lines] two years at least before his admission, that is was bona fide his intentions to become a Citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State, or Sovereignitywhatsoever, and particularly to the King of Norway & Sweden of whom he was heretofore a Subject and said applicant having declared on oath, before this Court, that he will support the Constitution of the United States, and that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatsoever, and particularly to King of Norway& Sweden of whom he was heretofore a Subject. The Court being satisfied that said applicant has
resided within the United States for the term of five
years next preceding his admission, without being at any
time during the said five years out of the Territory of THEREUPON The Court admitted the said applicant to become a citizen of the United States and ordered all proceedings aforesaid to be entered of Record which was accordingly done by the Clerk of this Court. IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I, J. W. Pratt, Clerk of
the Court aforesaid, have hereto set my hand, and affixed
the seal of the said Court at office in Waukon in said
County, this 19 day of June A.D. 1872 |
