| CHASE - MARUGG | Married. Chase-Marugg. In
Delaware, Ia on Thursday, March 2nd, 1899, Mr. A.L. Chase
and Miss M. Marugg. The above comes as a surprise to the many friends of the groom here. But they all cordially join in wishing him and his estimable life partner all the joy and happiness allotted to humanity in this sacred relation. -- Mr. and Mrs. W.I. | CHASE - UECKER | From the Elkader Register -At ten o'clock Wednesday morning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. August UECKER, in Elkader, occurred the marriage of their daughter, Jessie M. and Fred Leslie CHASE. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Mr. FRANKE, of the German church in the presence of a large number of relatives of the contracting parties. Miss Vina DECKER, a sister of the bride served as bridesmaid while John GREGG of Postville, acted as groomsman. After the ceremony came a season of congradulations and then a sumptous wedding dinnner, the reception being continued during the afternoon. The bride is one of our most worthy young ladies, born and raised in Elkader, and has a large circle of friends who wish her a happy wedded life. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. W.I. CHASE, of Postville, an active, industrious young man, who has acquired a fine farm at Colton, S.D. where he and his bride will settle down to the realities of life. We extend our hearty congratulations and best wishes. Among the friends present from abroad were Mr. and Mrs. W.I. CHASE, Mr. and Mrs. Henry SCHUETTE, Jr.,Mr. and Mrs. W.C. DRESSER, Mrs. Henry WEBB, John GREGG and Misses Nina, Ama and Ina DRESSER, all of Postvile. Mr. and Mrs. Robert McCREADY of Cherokee Iowa. | CHASE - WOOD | On Thursday, Nov. 6, 1902, at Flint Mich., occurred the marriage of Mr. Gilbert C. Chase, of Postville, to Miss Wena R. Wood, an estimable young lady of that city, whose acquaintance Gilbert made while stopping with his brother, Prof. A.L. Chase, at Monticello, Iowa, which place was at that time her home. While the bride is unknown to Postville people, none doubt Gilbert's wisdom in selecting a spouse who will be a helpmeet and who knows exactly how to make his home a happy one. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. W.I. Chase of this city, a thorough going, upright and industrious young man, whose myriad [of] friends hereabouts will wish him and his a pleasant journey on the sea of life. The happy couple are expected to arrive in Postville tomorrow morning to receive the congratulations of our people, and in the evening a reception in their honor will be given by Mr. and Mrs. W.I. | CLAIR - ERICKSON | A very pretty June wedding was that of Miss Agnes Rosabel Erickson and Clarence Alfred Clair of Moline, Ill., which took place at the Swedish Baptist church in Center township, June 2, at 8 oclock p.m., the Rev. Martin Erickson of Moline officiating and being assisted by the Rev. J. R. Lindblom, pastor of the church. The attendants were Minnie Erickson, sister of the bride, and Lloyd Clair, brother of the groom. The bride wore a white satin floor length gown and veil, and carried a bouquet of pink and white roses and ferns. The bridesmaid was attired in an ankle length dress of figured crepe, carried pink and white roses and snapdragons. The wedding colors, shell pink, blue and silver were carried out in decoration of church, bouquets, etc. The ring service was used, Master Leslie Larson of Moline being the ring bearer, and little Miss Aleta Bishop of Nora Springs, Iowa, flower girl. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Erickson of Center township and the groom, who is production estimator for Rock Island Arsenal, a son of Gus Clair of Moline. A reception was held in the church basement, where a two-course luncheon was served to about eighty guests. Out of town attendants at the wedding were: Mrs. Ernest Furchner, Plankinton, S. D.; Mrs. Jay Bishop and family, Nora Springs, Ia. Mr. and Mrs. Irving Lawton and family, Victor, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Colbornson, Marengo, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. B. Henckla and family, Moline, Ill.; Gus Clair and family, Moline; Ralph Sexina and Lloyd Clair, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Roland Nyquist, Moline; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stranlund, Moline; the Rev. and Mrs. M. Erickson, Moline; Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Larson and family, Moline; Ben Pullman, Moline, Ill. | CLARK - WILLIAMS | Married. At the M.E. Church, in this village, on Thursday evening, the 9th inst., by Rev. P.E. MILLER; Mr. H.G. CLARK to Miss Ellen J. WILLIAMS. The nuptials were witnessed by a house full of friends and neighbors of the "bride" and "groom" who gathered for the purpose of congratulating them upon their union. From the church, a large number of invited guests adjourned to their residence, a new and fine one, which Mr. CLARK had already prepared and furnished in good style, ready for occupation; and where a magnificiently spread table awaited their arrival. Here a general social time was enjoyed; heartily expressed "good-wills", music and feasting being the order until nearly twelve o'clock, when the visitors quietly dispersed, leaving the family, so pleasantly installed in their new home, to its quiet enjoyment. Postville, were married at Cresco Methodist church
Tuesday afternoon. Rev. George W. Turner read the double
ring wedding service. Crystal Koenig, Castalia, attended
the bride as maid of honor and the groom's brother, Pearl
Cooke, Postville, was the best man. The groom is a crane
operator working in the vicinity of Farmersburg. The
bride has been employed as an office clerk in Cedar

White was called upon last Thursday to tie a nuptial knot
and he performed the trick very cleverly. The happy
couple who called upon Squire White's services were Mr.
Blake Cooley, who resides near West Union, and Miss
Theresa Doleschal, of Postville. The couple were
attended by M. Herman Willman and Miss Floss Stintzl,
both of Postville. After the ceremony the party went to

| COON - PEARSON | At eleven o'clock Tuesday forenoon, September 24, 1812 [sic 1912], at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R.V. Pearson in Hardin, occurred the marriage of their daughter, Miss Nettie, to Mr. Frank Coon of Waukon, Rev. Vannice of Waukon perorming the ceremony, only near relatives of the contracting parties being present. Following the congratulations an elegant wedding dinner was served, immediately after which the bridal couple departed for Luana where they took the train for a honeymoon trip to Chicago and Milwaukee. The bride is one of the most estimable young ladies of her home locality, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Coon of Waukon, a steady and industrous young man, who is employed as engineer on the Milwaukee railway between Waukon and North McGregor. | COPENHAVER - STEIBER | Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Robertson of Oelwein, Mrs. Robert Hansen and two sons of Evansdale were in Lansing on Sunday to attend the wedding and reception for Harold Copenhaver, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Copenhaver of Rowley and Hazel Steiber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Steiber of Lansing. They were married in the Evangelical United Brethren church of Lansing at 2:30 Sunday afternoon. Sept 14. | CORNELL - ALSPAUGH | Married. On Wednesday evening, June 27, the home of Mr. and Mrs. D.A. Alspaugh was the scene of a happy gathering, it being the occasion of the marriage of their daughter, Florence to Anson P. Cornell. Promptly at 8 o'clock in response to a well rendered wedding march by Mrs. A.W. Kramer, the contracting parties appeared on the floor, attended by Welton Cornell and Miss Alice Bloxam. They took their position under an arch of cedar tastily bedecked with flowers, where, in the presence of more than forty invited guests, they were solemnly united in the holy bonds of matrimony, the bride's pastor officating. After the ceremony a dainty lap supper was served, following which a general good time was enjoyed by all. The bride is one of Castalia's highly esteemed young ladies and the groom a young man of excellent character, making the bride a fitting life companion. | CORNELL - ORR | Married this week. At the residence of the bride's parents, near Postville; on Wednesday noon, Sept 18th, 1889, by Rev. J.O. THRUSH, Mr. A. Edward CORNELL and Miss Carrie B. ORR. Miss Ollie ORR was bride's maid and Mr. PACKARD acted as groom's man. The bride was born and reared here and is one of our most accomplished young ladies. Mr. CORNELL, as proprietor of the Commerical Hotel for nearly 5 years is as well known as any of our businessmen. The couple left on Thursday for a bridal tour of ten days.
