Waukon St.
Johns Lutheran church provided the settling Sunday
for the marriage of Audrey Johnson, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Earl Johnson, and Leland Reeder, son of Mrs. Vesta
Reeder. The Rev. William K. Brehow read the ceremony,
Mrs. W. C. Grangaard, organist, accompanied Mrs.
Charlotte Rae, vocal soloist. The bride chose a gown of
net with lace trim over satin. Her fingertip veil was
held by a pearl crown. She carried red roses. Mrs. Wesley
Reed, matron of honor, wore a mint green gown, Charlotte
and Sharon Spores of Dorchester were bridesmaids. They
wore lavender and purple gowns and white picture hats.
Flower girls were Wanda Halverson and Sandy Lieran.
Ronald Robert carried the ring. Attending the bridegroom
were, Arylene Johnson as best man and Gary Reeder and
Kenneth Johnson as groomsmen. Ushers were Hubert
Hermanson and James Lippe. Two hundred guests attended a

Miss Minnie Ericson of
Waterville, and Harold Dale Reetz, of Marquette, were
married Friday at the parsonage of the Swedish Baptist
Church with the pastor, the Rev. J. R. Lindblom
officiating. The bride is a daughter of Richard Ericson,
of Center Township. She is a graduate of the Waukon High
School, since which time she has been teaching in the
rural schools of Allamakee county. The bridegroom
received his education in the Marquette schools and for
the past several years has been employed in Center
Township. The new home will be made with the brides

Waukon Miss Joyce
Marie Troendle and Michael Regan were married Saturday at
10:30 at St. Patricks Catholic church by the Rev.
Joseph J. Slepicka. Parents of the couple are Mr. and
Mrs. Silas Troendle and the William Regans. The bride
chose a silk organza gown with an elbow-length veil
caught to a jeweled crown. She carried white mums and
blue carnations. Attending her were Miss Margie Collins,
maid of honor; Miss Mary Regan, sister of the bridegroom,
and Miss Peggy Bresnahan. They wore aqua peau de sole
gowns and carried bouquets similar to the brides.
Dennis Regan was his brothers best man. John Regan
and John Troendle, brothers of the couple, served as
groomsmen. Ushers were Gene Sweeney and Frank Regan. Joan
and Mathew Regan were flower girl and ringbearer. A
reception for 175 guests was given in the church dining
hall, after which the couple left for the northern
states. The bride is employed by Waukon Bakery and her

The fame of Utah's
"Gretna Green," Farmington [Utah], has spread
rather widely, according to James H. Reid and Doris L.
Morris, who applied for a marriage license Monday at the
office of the Davis county clerk. the bride is from
Missoula, Mont. and the groom from Waukon, Iowa. they
told the marriage license clerk that they had journeyed
from their respective homes by automobile to get their
license at Farmington. They were married immediately
after obtaining their license by Justice of the Peace
Thomas Brimley.

LANSINGThe marriage of
Arlene Dee and Lawrence Reinke took place at the
Evangelical church Saturday morning at an 11 o'clock,
service, performed by the Rev. R. A. Dennert. The
ceremony took place before a flower banked altar. The
double ring service was used. Mrs. C. V. Dennert sang
"Because." At the opening strains of the
wedding march Rev. Dennert, Lawrence Reinke and his
brother, Roland, proceeded from the right to the altar,
and from the | opposite side of the church Lou Iva Dee,
flower girl, led the bridesmaid, Dorothy Dee, and the
bride on the arm of her father, to be met at the altar by
the bridegroom. The bride was beautifully attired in
floor-length gown of white, the bodice of satin, long
sleeves and a sweetheart neck line, the skirt net over
satin. Her finger-tip veil was edged in lace and held in
place by a pearl seeded tiara." She carried a shower
bouquet of pink and white carnations. Her attendant wore
a pink formal, the bodice of net and taffeta, the skirt
net over satin and her arm bouquet was yellow jonquils.
The little flower girl girl wore a floor dress of light
blue, belted in pink ribbon strung embroidery. She wore a
shoulder length veil held in place with blue flowers..
She carried a basket of fern and pink snap dragons, which
she scattered in the isle as the wedding party left the
altar. Immediately at the close of the wedding service,
Mrs. Dennert sang "Savior Like a Shepherd Lead
Us." The bride's mother wore a light blue dress, the
bridegroom's mother, a black and gold dress, and both
wore corsages of pink carnations. Mr. and Mrs. Reinke
received congratulations and best wishes from those in
attendance, then went to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard
Dee where a wedding dinner was served to the immediate
families. Here the home was decorated in pink and white
and Betty Gramlich and Bernice Steiber served the dinner.
Mrs. Reinke is the elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dee,
and a graduate of Lansing high school. During the past
year she was employed at Hampton. Mr. Reinke is a son of
Mr. and Mrs. William Reinke of Geneva, where he
graduated, from the high school and is at present
attending Western Union college at LeMars where they will

Solemnized Sunday evening at
the Mount Hope Presbyterian Church was the marriage of
Miss Mary Elaine Wild, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward
Wild of near Waukon, and Dale E. Reiser, son of Earl
Reiser of New Albin, and Mrs. Alice R. Reiser-Child of
Tulsa, Oklahoma. The double ring ceremony was performed
by the Rev. E.M. DeBuhr of Wheatland, Minnesota. Mrs.
Allen Hartley was the organist and Loren Hartley sang.
The brides attendants were her sisters, Mrs. Floyd
Waters and Mrs. Raymond Zezulka, both of New Albin. Cleon
Reiser, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, and
Donald Hammer of Waukon, brother-in-law of the
bridegroom, was the groomsman. The ushers were Harris
Wild of Lansing, and Robert J. Weymiller, Jr., of New
Albin. Among those assisting at a reception in the church
parlors were Mrs. Donald Hammer, Mrs. Harris Wild, Mrs.
Keith Wild, Mrs. Robert Weymiller, Miss Shirley Meyer,
Miss Betty Jean Wild, Miss Ramona Hartley, Miss Evelyn
Wenig, Mrs. Leon Schoh, Mrs. Loren Bulman and Mrs. Junior
Middendorf. The bride is a graduate of the Waukon High
School, and her husband graduated from Woodrow Wilson
High School in Dallas, Texas. He expects to enter

At a beautiful May wedding
Miss Martha Wendle, fifth oldest child of Mr. and Mrs.
John J. Wendle, was untied in marriage to Howard Revoir,
son of Mr. and Mrs. James Revoir at 11:00 oclock
Wednesday morning at the German Evangelical church.
Reverend Henry Marks performed the ceremony. The bride
was attired in an ankle length white satin dress with a
lace jacket. She wore a floor length veil and carried
pink roses and baby breath. The bridesmaid Marjorie
Revoir, sister of the groom, was attired in pink silk and
carried flowers. The best man was Curtis Wendle, brother
of the bride. Both men wore dark suits. A dinner was
served at noon at the brides home to immediate
relatives after which the happy couple left on a trip to
various points. They will make their home at Revoirs for
the present. Their many friends extend congratulations

Postville Miss
Flossie Moon, daughter of William Moon of Farmersburg,
and Fred Ruckdaschel, Postville businessman, were married
at 2:30 oclock Thursday afternoon in the new St.
Pauls Lutheran church here by the Rev. Frederick R.
Ludwig, church pastor. Attendants were Mr. and Mrs.
George Henkers of Farmersburg, uncle and aunt of the
bride, with Mr. and Mrs. Edward Oldag of Postville as
honorary attendants. Mrs. Arthur Moon played the
organ for the wedding march and for a vocal duet by
Ernest Moon and his daughter Shirley of Monona. The
Misses Virginia Oldag and Darlene Ruckdaschel were ushers
and Sally Ann and Patricia Ruckdaschel the flower
girls. Following the ceremony a reception was held
for the guests in the church parlors and in the evening
the couple was honored at a dinner in the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Albert Lubke. The couple will live in
Postville where Mr. Ruckdaschel has an automobile sales
and repair business and is a member of the Postville town

over the land from a Thomas Ruddy, relationship unknown.
A marriage was performed at St. Gabriel's Church or
somewhere else by Father Lucien Galtier of Prairie du
Chein, Wisconsin. On May 3, 1857 the Prairie Du Chein
Marriage register lists "James Roday married Helen
Murphy." That should read James Ruddy married Ellen
Murphy. Ellen Murphy was the daughter of Patrick Murphy
and Margaret (Madden) Murphy of Ireland. The marriage
register lists Daniel and Ann as parents of James. -

Sacred Heart, Dubuque, Iowa,
was the setting for the 1:30 p.m. nuptial mass on
Saturday, June 26, 1976 of Jean Luster, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Ernest Luster of Lansing, Iowa, and Carl Ruzich,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Ruzich of Chicago, Ill. The
bride and groom were presented in marriage by both of
their parents. The Rev. Edgar Kolfenbach officiated at
the double ring ceremony. The bride's white floor length
gown had a stand-up collar, empire bodice and full sheer
bishop sleeves. Two ruffles lined the bottom of the dress
and full length train. All were trimmed with light blue
ribbon. The finger tip veil fell from the Juliet style
headpiece which also had blue ribbon woven through it.
She carried a bouquet of longstemmed blue and white
carnations accented with baby breath and blue and white
ribbon streamers. Mary Jo Luster Carpenter of Madison,
Wis. served her sister as matron of honor. Bridesmaids
were Lynne Ruzich, sister of the groom, and Joan Knopf,
friend of the bride. Sara Luster, sister of the bride,
was junior bridesmaid. They wore sky blue floor length
dresses with a ruffle lining the bottom of the dresses.
Matching capes were draped over their shoulders. Their
white picture hats had blue ribbon streamers and they
carried arm bouquets of blue and white longstemmed
carnations. Frank Kelly, friend of the groom, served as
best man. Other groomsmen were Thomas Luster, brother of
the bride, and Thomas O'Leary, friend of the groom.
Ushers were Dennis and Bruce Luster, brothers of the
bride. Janet Jaffke of Chicago provided the flute music.
She played "Theme from Exodus," "Sunrise,
Sunset," "Greensleeves" and "We've
Only Just Begun." Lectors were Lynne Ruzich and
Thomas Luster. The offertory gifts were presented by the
parents of the bride and groom. The mother of the bride
chose a floor length pink dress with a matching floor
length cape. The groom's mother wore a floor length
apricot dress. Both carried nosegays of pastel summer
flowers accented with baby breath. Long-stemmed
carnations of various pastel colors were passed out to
each lady guest present. After the ceremony a dinner was
served at the Chateau Supper Club in Dubuque for 200
guests, followed by a reception in the Chateau Lower
Lounge until 11 p.m. with music provided by the Mike
Reiss and Company Band. The bride is a 1973 graduate of
St. George High School and attended Loras College. She is
presently employed by the Julien Motor Inn of Dubuque.
The groom is a 1973 graduate of Marist High School in
Chicago and he also attended Loras College. He is
employed by Caradco of Dubuque. The couple plan to

Welper and Ralph J. Ryan were married in St.
Patricks Catholic Church Saturday by the Rev. John
McDonald. The brides gown was fashioned of Organza
over taffeta, designed with a sculptured bodice accused
with embroidery and seed pearls. Her finger tip veil was
caught to a jewel crown and she carried an arrangement of
red roses. Miss Diana Collins, Minneapolis, and Mrs.
Harold Welper. Dorchester, were a bridesmaids. Raymond
Ryan was his brothers best man and Phillip Liddiard
was groomsman. Delbert Welper, New Albin, and Patrick
Corrigan, Cedar Rapids, seated the guests. A reception
for 350 guests was given at the Veterans club. The
bridegroom farms and also is employed at the Equity Sales
barn in Decorah and the Northeastern Sale
Commissions barn here. The couple will make their
