| ZARWELL - RENK | New Albin – St. John’s United Church of Christ provided the setting Saturday for the marriage of Miss Carolyn Marie Renk and Ronald f. Zarwell of Ottawa, Ill. Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Roy Renk, and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Zarwell. The Rev. C. Kent Wever officiated at the 2 o’clock ceremony. Venice lace appliqué accented the bishop sleeves and chapel train of the bride’s gown of silk organza over taffeta. Matching lace banding trimmed her Empire bodice and A-line skirt. A half cap of satin loops and ribbon held her elbow-length veil and the bridal bouquet was a cascade arrangement of bridal pink roses, while Fuji mums and white carnations. Miss Lorraine Renk attended her sister as main of honor, Mr. Richard Zarwell was bridesmatron and Miss Jana Yaun was bridesmaid. Each was attired in an A-line gown of dacrea in blue and white floral pattern featuring Venice lace threaded with navy velvet ribbon accenting the mandarin collar, the cuffs of the long bishop sleeves and marking the waistline. They carried crescent bouquets of white snowdrift pompoms. Serving the bridegroom was Richard Zarwell, his brother, as best man and Lynn Sires and Fred Meyer as groomsmen. Richard Renk, brother of the bride, and David Zarwell seated guests. Robert and Raymond Renk, also brothers, were candellighters. After the ceremony, a reception for 250 guests was given in the church social room and at the bride’s parent’s home. Mr. and Mrs. Zarwell will reside in Ottawa, July 8, following a wedding trip to the Black Hills, S. D. The bridegroom is employed by the Marbou Division, Borg-Warner Corp., Ottawa. He recently returned from serving with the air force. | ZOLL - COLLINS | CORRESPONDENCE.
RUSSIA, Apr. 21, 1882. Ed. Democrat: Last week William Zoll and Bridget Collins, both of French Creek, were united in wedlock at the Catholic Church on the Lansing Ridge. They were attended by John Collins and Frances Zoll as groomsman and bridesmaid. After the ceremony they repaired to the residence of the bride's father on Silver Creek, where about one hundred invited friends had assembled to wish the young couple much joy, and long and happy transit over the stormy sea of life. After the customary congratulations were over, a sumptuous repast was spread and all did ample justice to the good edibles which covered the table. The guests whiled away the time very pleasantly, some at the terpsichorean feat, while others enjoyed themselves with songs, till the approaching dawn warned them of other duties, and all departed for home apparently well satisfied. The groom is honest and well-to-do, while the bride is a model young lady. They were both reared from childhood in this vicinity and start life with the best wishes of all their acquaintances for their future success in life. Moroney, roast turkey. --- 'Tis dangerous to flirt with a certain ------- maid on the Lansing Ridge for she says, to use her own scornful expression. "if a fellow flirted with me and then left me, I would just have him arrested right away." Young man be careful and do not flirt with her unless you mean biz. About one mile from the residence of said maid and situated in two valleys, so as to form a right angle triangle, with the maid's residence, live two old pettifoggers, one a lady, the other a gentleman, (excuse me I do not mean lady and gentleman, I do not think that would be a suitable appellation for as such they are not.) who can mind every person's business but their own, although if those two scurrilous demagogues would stay at home, for neighbors do not want them, I think they would have all they could do, and the "wolf would be further from the door." If they do not take this hint, I will have to administer such a dose as the medical gentleman from Quandahl" did to Nickel, or perhaps they would receive a "spirit communication." Which would forever place a damper on their degraded and vicious tongues, or anything to relieve an outraged community. 'Tis a wise person who can take care of himself, so let them Beware. More anon. | ZOLL - COLLINS | Waukon – St. Patrick’s Catholic church provided the setting Saturday for the wedding of Beatrice Collins, daughter of Mrs. Michael Mahoney, and William Zoll, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vick Zoll. The Rev. John McDonald officiated before altar decorations of white gladiolus. Miss Anna Hansmeier was soloist. The bride wore a blue suit with white accessories and an orchid corsage. Attending the couple were Mrs. Edward Mahoney, Matron of honor, and George Zoll, brother of the bridegroom, best man. A wedding dinner followed at the Village Diner, after which the couple left on a wedding trip to Canada. The bride, graduated from St. Joe’s in Mason City, has been teaching near Waukon. Mr. Zoll has been employed by the government in Alaska, and is associated with the J. P.
