'Tis dangerous to flirt with a certain ------- maid on the Lansing Ridge for she says, to use her own scornful expression. "if a fellow flirted with me and then left me, I would just have him arrested right
away." Young man be careful and do not flirt with her unless you mean biz. About one mile from the residence of said maid and situated in two valleys, so as to form a right angle triangle, with the maid's residence, live two old pettifoggers, one a lady, the other a gentleman, (excuse me I do not mean lady and gentleman, I do not think that would be a suitable appellation for as such they are not.) who can mind every person's business but their own, although if those two scurrilous demagogues would stay at home, for neighbors do not want them, I think they would have all they could do, and the "wolf would be further from the door." If they do not take this hint, I will have to administer such a dose as the medical gentleman from Quandahl" did to Nickel, or perhaps they would receive a "spirit communication." Which would forever place a damper on their degraded and vicious tongues, or anything to relieve an outraged community. 'Tis a wise person who can take care of himself, so let them Beware. More anon.
