The Old Court House (built in 1861) is dominant in the background. Also visible are the Dillenberg stone building and the Martin building on the right side of Allamakee Street, as are the columns of the Old Opera House and the Allamakee Hotel on the left. On one corner is Grimm Brothers Drug Store, and across the street is Hale and Sons Department Store.
