April 2008 (thru the 26th)

The following thank-you note is for all of the generous people who volunteer their time to transcribe the various records for the website, or who contribute photos and other types of data. Each of you has helped to make the Allamakee co. IAGenWeb a great research destination for on-line researchers around the world. There is no way I could do it myself...... Sharyl Ferrall, Allamakee co. IAGenWeb coordinator

  • Thank you, thank you. I stumbled across the Allamakee website quite by accident. My mother always said she thought she remembered Grandmother telling her that her mother had been born in Iowa, but that's the only information I had. My Grandmother & Mother are now gone, and nobody else in the family knows anything about our family genealogy. A google search found an obituary that mentioned my great uncle, and that obituary lead me to additional information on your site. I am still reeling! Marlene, in Oklahoma

Our April contributors didn't let us down ..... as usual! MUCHO THANKS go out to Janet Koozer, Mike Peterson, Ann Krumme, Errin Wilker, Jeannie Hegeman, Constance Diamond, Mary Durr, Evelyn Rudolph, 'LA', Ada Marie Kerndt, Carol Harris, Phyllis Peterson and an anonymous contributor

December 1, 2007 - January 29, 2008

Thank-you notes from web-site users:
  • I want you to know how grateful I am for the terrific job you and other volunteers are doing. Among all the USGenWeb county sites I use for my family research, Allamakee is by far the best. If only ALL the county sites were this good! Calvin Augustus Robey and William Stinson Dunn of Paint Creek were two of my great-grandfathers, and though I have never even been to Iowa, I feel sometimes as if I'd visited Allamakee often--partly because of my grandmother's and mother's fond memories told to me in childhood, and partly because of my family research....... from Barbara in Massachusetts
  • Having been through many many websites over the course of seeking information, I can tell you that the Allamakee County site sparkles because of the work done by people who are already passed and by people who nurture the present. You guys are doing a fantastic job.........Harold

Thanks go out to these volunteers: Errin Wilker, Kathy Maurer, Matthew Whalen, Ann Krumme, an anonymous gravestone photo contributor, 'LA', Mary Durr, Kathleen Hash, Guy Steinmetz, Harold G. Kaeser, S. Ferrall & "obit volunteer(s)".
