Mary M. Akron - Eckert was born 6 May 1798 in MD, and died 17 Jun 1893 in Mallory twp. Clayton co, IA. She was buried on 19 Jun 1893 in Hansel cemetery, Garber. Her maiden name is listed as 'Akron' in the 1882 Clayton Co census, however, is was shown to be 'Eckhart' in Allegany County, Md. marriage records, John Eckhart's (her father) probate, and 1918 death certificate of  her son Strother Hansel.

    i. Harriet Hansel -born ABT 1830 in MD. Married Andrew Lewis.

     ii. Phillip Hansel -born 8 Mar 1832 in MD, and died 27 Nov 1902. Married Rachel Alzina Stone.

      iii. Mary Hansel -born 7 Aug 1836 in Allegheny co. MD, and died 9 Jan 1897 in Iowa. Married John Zearley.

     iv. John W. Hansel -born 8 Nov 1837 in MD, and died 12 Sep 1920 in Mallory twp. Clayton co. Iowa. Married Nancy Jane Hunt.

    v. Jacob Hansel -born 25 Sep 1839 in Frostburg, Allegheny co. MD, and died 2 Dec 1909 in Garber, Clayton co. Iowa. Married Nancy Esther Darrow.

   vi. George Hansel -born Sep 1842 in Maryland, and died 14 Nov 1908 in Iowa. Married Mary Baker.

   vii. Strother Todd Hansel -born 19 Nov 1844 in WVa and died 6 May 1918 in Mallory twp. Clayton co. Iowa. Married Sophronia Wolf.

   viii. Sarah E. Hansel -born ABT 1850 in Mallory twp. Clayton co. Iowa. Married James Milne.

   ix.   Charles Hansel - no information

Jacob Hansel, son of John and Mary Hansel. Born 09/25/1839 and died 12/24/09. He married Nancy Esther Darrow on 02/07/1867. She was born 05/08/1848 and died on 07/02/ 1929.

Nelson Hansel, son of Jacob & Nancy (Darrow) Hansel, was born on July 14,1877. He married  Mattie Palmer on Dec 25,1905. He died December 31,1955. This picture was taken Dec 25, 1955 just 6 days before his death. That would have been his 50th wedding anniversary.

Annette "Nettie" Hansel & George Moetsch

Annette "Nettie" Hansel, the 6th child of Jacob & Nancy (Darrow) Hansel, was born Feb. 1,1880 and died March 19,1958. She married George Moetsch on Dec 4,1901. George Moetsch was born April 15,1866 and died on Nov 12,1938. They are buried in New Hampton, Iowa 

Exzella Hansel, second child of Marion and Carrie (Smith) Hansel; granddaughter of Jacob and Nancy (Darrow) Hansel. Exzella was born July 19,1894. She married Daniel Persson on Nov. 22,1913. Daniel was born on Jan 22,1895.

Marion, was born Oct 16, 1906 and died Jan 01, 1977. Aulden was born June 26,1910 and died June 25,1988. Marion was the 6th child of Marion and Carrie (Smith) Hansel; they were grandchildren of Jacob and Nancy (Darrow) Hansel.

on June 1, 1931 in Manchester, Delaware co. Iowa

Theodore R. Hansel, the 5th child of Marion & Carrie (Smith) Hansel; grandson of Jacob & Nancy (Darrow) Hansel. Ted was born Oct. 5, 1902 & died on Aug 4,1993. He married Mary Grobstick on Oct.10,1922. Mary was born in 1902.

Opal Pearl Hansel, 4th child of Marion & Carrie (Smith) Hansel; granddaughter of Jacob & Nancy (Darrow) Hansel. She was born Sept 6,1899 and died on May 8,1990. She married Charles Down on May 16,1917. Charles was born Aug. 27,1893 and died June 1980.
