This photo was discovered in my Mother's things. We
had not seen before. It is a baseball or softball
team picture. They have shirts on with Volga
City on them and bats and gloves on the floor. I
believe my grandfather, A.C. "Bert" Fobes (top row standing, 2nd
from left), moved to Volga about 1895 from
Ohio. He was a teacher and worked in the Post
Office and I think a census enumerator. My
grandmother lived in Volga with her parents J.W.
& Rosetta Hold who ran the mill in Volga.
Bert Fobes married Elsie Hold 23 June 1903 and began
farming in Clayton County. I would love to know the
year of the photo, and anything else anyone can tell
me about it.
