Clayton County Lookups

The people who do lookups are volunteers. Be specific when asking them for assistance and please be polite. Your request should include which of their resources you'd like the look-up from.

Volunteers are hard to come by, so a pat on the back and a thank-you goes a long way!

Email me if want to volunteer to do lookups or to report a non-working email address on this page!

1) 21st Iowa Infantry records I have records regarding several hundred men who served in the regiment and know what it did every day of its service from 09/09/62 muster-in at Dubuque, to 07/15/65 muster-out at Baton Rouge, to 07/24/65 discharge at Clinton.  I may be able to help descendants trace their ancestors' participation in war and in their pre and post war activities.

1) Extensive Mallory Township records:
I have a lot of Clayton county genealogy info. esp. on Mallory twp.  My granddad Dean S. Mallory put together a book "Mallory House of Records" on people (related, and not related) who lived in Mallory twp. I will try to help researchers with their Garber, Colesburg & Osterdock ancestors.
